Early Childhood
At our Montessori school, we follow a child-centered approach that encourages independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. Students are guided by the teacher who observes and supports their individual learning journeys, allowing them to explore subjects at their own pace. Our classrooms are designed to be calm, engaging environments filled with hands-on materials that promote practical life skills, sensory exploration, and academic growth. Along with academic learning, we also offer a variety of activities, including art, music, gardening, and physical education, to support the overall development of every child.
Experience Our School Day
Our Early Childhood program welcomes children ages 2½ to 5 into a warm and nurturing environment where learning unfolds naturally through exploration and play. Classes organized into Nursery, Preschool, and Kindergarten based on age.
All daily classroom activities are conducted in English, and children also take part in additional special classes such as music, art, and physical education, which are likewise taught entirely in English.
Each classroom is guided by a main teacher and supported by an assistant, ensuring close attention to every child’s needs and development. Inspired by the Montessori approach, classrooms are thoughtfully prepared to encourage independence, hands-on discovery, and meaningful social interaction. Children spend time outdoors each day in our garden, enjoying fresh air, movement, and play as an essential part of their routine.
The school day runs from 8:45 to 14:45, Monday thru Friday.
Nursery:
We offer a gentle settling-in period at the beginning of the school year to support a smooth transition into full school days. We also provide a nap room for children who wish to rest after lunch.
Curriculum Overview
Practical life
Practical Life activities help children develop fine and gross motor skills, independence, and social awareness. By engaging in tasks such as cleaning, pouring, dressing, and organizing, students learn to care for themselves and their environment. These exercises also strengthen coordination and concentration—laying the foundation for future writing and cognitive development.
Sensorial Exploration
The Sensorial materials are designed to refine the five senses—sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell. Each material isolates one specific sensory quality, allowing children to focus on and better understand individual aspects of their environment. Through this work, students begin the process of abstract thinking and pattern recognition.
Formal Skills and Studies
Language (Ages 2½ to 4, NURSERY AND PRESCHOOL)
Our language curriculum introduces children to prewriting exercises, such as punch pins, ,metal insets and tracing and supports early literacy through phonics and vocabulary development.
Language (age 5, KINDERGARTEN)
Children start with independent writing exercises and the implementation of early reading skills
Mathematics (Ages 2½ to 4, NURSERY AND PRESCHOOL):
Mathematics is introduced through hands-on, concrete materials. Students explore numeration, the decimal system, and geometry. The focus is on understanding quantity before associating numbers with symbols.
Mathematics and Geometry (Age 5, KINDERGARTEN):
Children transition from concrete concepts to more abstract thinking. Using manipulatives, they build a strong foundation in early arithmetic.
Cultural Studies
Science:
Children are introduced to the natural and physical world through hands-on activities and thematic learning units. Very attractive Montessori materials support the study of biology, botany, zoology and physical science
Geography:
Children explore geographical concepts using tactile materials such as the plain globe, sandpaper globe, and land & water form trays.
International Awareness:
Each month, students explore the culture, geography, and traditions of a different NATO country, fostering global understanding and curiosity from an early age.
