Nursery, Preschool & Kindergarten

Mission Statement

We believe that the child moves him or herself toward learning when given the necessary support. To properly guide this movement, the child must have independence achieved through order and discipline.



Our school’s 2 ½ to 6 years curriculum emphasizes three major classes of activity: Pratical life, Sensory, Formal skills and studies.
Pratical life: helps students to develop motor skills and interact with others, while learning to take care of their environment. Manual skills are perfected which help in future writing and cognitive skills.
Sensorial: these materials stimulate the child’s intelligence through sight, sound, touch, taste and smell. Each piece of equipment has an isolated quality, which educates a specific sense. Students take their first steps in understanding the abstract.
Formal skills and studies: 
Language: learning shapes and sounds of letters, practicing motor skills for writing, vocabulary, development, matching  words and picture, reading word lists, grammar ( nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc.) and grammar structures.
Mathematics( 2 ½ to 4 years): mathematics is the science of numbers. Montessori focuses on numeration, the decimal system and geometry. Students learn the concepts of quantity, then a number system.
Mathematics (Kindergarten): lessons at this level begin with the concrete and move to the abstract. A variety of objects are manipulated to learn basic number concepts:
Geometry- circle, square, triangle, rectangle, trapezoid, ellipse, pentagon, rhombus, quatrefoil, triangle. The solids include: sphere, cylinder and cube.

Cultural Studies:  Science: Science is a hands on activity that includes biology, botany, zoology and physical science.
Biology: parts of the body to include hygiene.
Botany: parts of leaf, plant and flower.
Zoology: classification of animals, hibernation and migration.
Geography: geography is taught using a plain globe, a sandpaper globe and land and water forms.
Units of study: each month is dedicated to a NATO country.
