History
The school was founded in 1958 by a group of NATO parents as an international daycare. Mrs. Alba Fedele, as a mother and educator, saw the need for a pre-school for these children, Mrs. Fedele attended the Montessori Training course in Perugia, Italy, working very closely with Dr. Paolini. When she was certified she began implementing the method and filling the rooms with the Montessori Materials. She painted the dreary walls with bright colors and had special children sized furniture made for the rooms. Each table had fresh flowers in the center to delight the children and create a lovely atmosphere. The school flourished and grew. Soon the Elementary and Middle School were added as sought out mother tongue English speaking teachers and trained Montessori Teachers for the new 6-12 years program and highly prepared Italian teachers to prepare the students for the rigorous Italian State Exams.
She strove to continue the fine English Italian education program for children of NATO Officials diplomats and local nationals.
With Mrs. Fedele passion, love for children and high educational standards the school is thriving. Our many graduates are now bringing their children to experience our wonderful school.
We are eternally grateful for the dedication and love for the school that Mrs. Fedele has shown and the seeds of knowledge she has planted and nurtured throughout the years.
